Financial Policy & Patient Rights

At MAP Behavioral Health Center, we are committed to providing accessible, compassionate mental health care while maintaining clear and transparent financial practices.

In June 2024, Governor Walz signed the Minnesota Debt Fairness Act into law, effective October 1, 2024. This legislation provides additional protections for patients regarding medical debt. MAP BHC has updated its financial practices to comply with these requirements.

MAP BHC will not deny medically necessary care solely because of unpaid medical debt, and will not engage in prohibited debt collection practices. Our financial policies, including information regarding billing, payment expectations, and medical debt practices, are outlined in our Notice of Financial Policy.

MAP Behavioral Health Center is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of your health information. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains your privacy rights and how MAP BHC may use and disclose your protected health information for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations.

Good Faith Estimate

If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you may be entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your care. Please contact our office for more information.
