ABOUT Megan Schindler
Welcome! As a therapist, my goal is to make my office a place where you can feel safe, seen, heard, and understood. I believe everyone needs spaces where they can explore their own experiences, patterns, challenges, and goals, and I consider it a place of honor to walk with my clients and assist in that exploration. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, which fostered my interest in how individuals navigate their own identities and experiences as well as introduced me to the world of mental health counseling.
I received my master's degree from Eastern Washington University in Counselor Education with an emphasis on Mental Health Counseling, and since then I have worked with adults of all ages regarding their mental health challenges, phase of life concerns, conflicts, family systems, and identity exploration. My various roles have also given me a passion for working with veterans, people experiencing suicidal ideation, neurodivergence, and trauma-related diagnoses. My theoretical approaches include existential/humanistic theory, relational therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
In my personal time, I love cooking in my kitchen and trying out new recipes, hanging out with our two Australian Shepherds, working on an elaborate cross-stitch project, or planning my next hike.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming and sometimes scary, especially if you’ve had negative experiences in the past, but I appreciate you taking the time to consider your options and make the decisions that are best for you and the life you want. I approach therapy with a sense of humor, and a spirit of collaboration and I look forward to walking with you on this part of your journey.
