ABOUT Kristi Burton

Hello there and welcome in! I believe therapy should be a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore life experiences and reconnect with your strengths. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed or simply seeking a better understanding of self, I am here to walk alongside you! With a bachelor's degree in global, cultural, and language studies, I have always had an interest in how we as people create identity, how we interact in the world, and how we're built to connect.

Receiving a Master’s Degree from the College of St. Scholastica in social work my focus has been working with teens and adults experiencing a variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, peer conflict, self esteem, addiction, trauma, etc. I also have an extreme soft spot for veterans, first responders, mothers and those who have experienced trafficking. My theoretical approaches include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

In my personal time I am an avid reader, listening to music of all genres and languages, playing video games, indulging in the occasional reality tv show, and spending time with the love of my life, my cat.

Finding a provider to connect to can feel like a daunting task, but I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my profile. If we work together, I’m all about building a genuine relationship where we can tackle things as a team. I am here for the ride wherever it takes us!
