ABOUT Ellie Olwen

Hi there! My name is Ellie, and I’m looking forward to working together! To me, therapeutic benefit comes through building a relationship. I enjoy getting to know my clients and working together to tackle the challenges they’re facing.

After getting my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Oregon-Cascades, I moved to Duluth and got my start as a school counselor before coming over to MAP full-time. I’m in the process of completing my supervised hours to become an LPCC.

I see both children aged 5-18 and adults. I have a special focus on the following areas: Individuals processing trauma, anxiety, and working through unlearning maladaptive coping mechanisms.

First responders- as a former EMT working 911 calls, I have an interest in helping first responders process the trauma they see daily in order to help them stay healthy and able to continue working in a way that fulfills them.

Pre/Postnatal mothers- the process of becoming a mother is often challenging and can feel extremely isolating. I have experience working in birth spaces and an interest in holding space with you as you grow and change through the journey of motherhood!

When I’m not seeing clients, you can find me cross-country skiing, training my dog, or exploring all the gorgeous views the North Shore has to offer.
