September Is Suicide Awareness Month

September is here and so is suicide awareness month.

Did you know that suicide “is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34” and that the “overall suicide rate in the U.S. has increased by 31% since 2001”?

These numbers show it is crucial that we break the stigma and talk about this topic more often and openly. The fact is every year thousands die by suicide leaving behind friends and family members that are heartbroken.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE - Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. Suicidal thoughts are not normal and should be addressed. They may be caused by an underlying untreated mental health condition. So, don’t be afraid to ask for help.
