Meet The MAP Makers - Ann Meehan

Meet The Map Maker Ann Meehan

Hi, I’m Ann! I am a nature obsessed and coffee loving therapist who is showing up for life and supporting children, teens, and families as a MAP Maker.  As a therapist I feel passionate about helping young people feel confident, secure, and empowered through play therapy, EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  I believe that when young people can shift the way they see the world they will start to feel better and make healthier choices to improve their quality of life, as they live in the world as the best version of themselves.

Working with young people and blending Play Therapy and trauma work is one of my passions. I am a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor and a Certified EMDR Therapist and specialize in supporting young people with trauma, anxiety, anger, depression – basically through all the big and overwhelming feelings that come with life’s most difficult moments.

You might be thinking – does it matter if my therapist is certified or registered? I think so! These certifications take years of training and supervision and is one of the best ways to know if a therapist has the skills, training and knowledge to support your child through the difficulties they are facing.

If you want to know a little more about what this might look like check out more about my work with young people here! Sometimes it can be overwhelming when you are looking for a therapist to wade through all the “therapist jargon”.  If you are curious about what Play Therapy might look like for your child, get more information here.  What to learn more about EMDR?
